DREAM COME TRUE

Day after our acquaintance party ( July 10, 2010) I had another memorable experience. Very different from what I used to do. It is not dancing nor competing in a contest, I did modelling. I can say it was a dream come true for me.

Kapampangan designers were given the chance to expose their creations in Sm City Pamapanga. In our town, Arayat, one of the best designers asked three different schools to be the models of her designs. Our school was picked and luckily I was selected to participate to the said event. When I was young I dreamt to be a professional model. I was amazed by the way they carry different clothes. So I'm very thankful that I was selected to be one of the models. I had fun and enjoyed it a lot. It was an amazing experience. Here are some of the photos during the fashion show:

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER:)

July 09, 2010 6:00 PM- A night to remember, one of the most exciting and most awaited events each school year, the acquaintance party happened. As expected it was more fun compare to the previous acquaintance parties. This year's party was a showtime inspired.

Yearly each sections showcase their talents in dancing, singing, acting and many more. The party started with the showtime theme song then students who were game to dance and sing the song were given prices. To formally open the program each sections were asked to perform their yells. Then the most awaited part, sections were given the chance to shine, they showed their talents in different exciting numbers and since it is showtime inspired, there were judges who commented on each performances. There were also madlang teachers who gave their scores and comments. Different awards were given at the end of the night. IV-Wisdom got the 1st place, my section III- LOVE got the 2nd place and I-Faith got the 3rd place. We also got the best yell. Each levels will have 2 best performers one girl and one boy. Luckily for the third time I won the best performer title. Ria Deocareza and Keith Martin were awarded as the Faces of the night.
Here are some of the photos:

Another unforgettable event, being one of the hosts made it more unforgettable. I'm sure next year's acquaintance party will be better(should be the best). It will be our last year so we should really enjoy the remaining time we have.

APTC's SUMMER VACATION

APTC or the Arayat Pampanga Taekwondo CLub was established 8 years ago. And I am one of the first batches. APTC has already produced several competent players. Yearly we have representatives for CLRAA and even Palarong Pambansa. One of my co-players bagged the Gold medal in Palarong Pambansa 3 years ago.

Until now APTC is still active. We also have our Christmas party, and summer vacation. This year is our 2nd visit in Herra Beach resort at Zambales. Here are some of the photos:

More photos @APTC:>

Summer is now over. Back to school back to training. We are all hoping to reach Palarong Pambansa this year.

ISANG DAAN, BAGONG DAAN.

Before it takes hours for us to be in Subic, Tarlac, or in Zambales. Traffic is one of the problems. But now it's different it only takes 40-50 mins for you to be in Subic and only 15-30 mins for you to be in Tarlac. Thanks to our former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. One of her successful projects is the SCTEX or the Subic, Clark, Tarlac Expressway.

SCTEX is the answer. No traffic, no hussle. You can also see the view of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Passing SCTEX made me realized how beautiful and important our nature is. Here are some of the photos. :
GMA's turn is over. For me she did great. There are a lot of improvements here in the Philippines. But she also committed mistakes and failures.I admire her dedication, strength, and abilities. The only problem with us, we don't appreciate good things what we see are all the shortcomings of a person. Now it's the turn of President elect Benigno "Noynoy" C. Aquino. I'm hoping that he can perform all his responsibilities well. Focus on how the Philippines will be more progressive.

Flores de Mayo (Flowers of May)

Philippines was colonized by three different countries the Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese. Spaniards who ruled our country for 333 years had thought and influenced us different things.

One of our traditions that the Spaniards has influenced us is during the month of May we call it "Flores de Mayo" or the Flowers of May. Most of the flowers blossom during this month so it is also the perfect time to do Santa Cruzan. This is the event where all the beautiful ladies in town are being selected and paraded in the town plaza. Some are escorted with men. Here are some of the photos:

More photos @Flores de Mayo(sam, benet, ticia, ate pot, and khalid)

Offering flowers to Mama Mary is also one of the activities during May. For me this tradition shows the impact of the Spanish's influences. Our culture is really influenced by different countries.

50 YEARS OF HAPPINESS

March 26, 1960 when Papang Jose de Rivera and Mama Shirley de Rivera decided to spend the rest of their lives with each other. The exchanging of vows happened at San Fernando Metropolitan Church officiated by Msgr. Francisco Lansang.

Time goes really fast. Last March 26 marked the 50 years of love, happiness, and care that Mama and Papang shared. We believe that this day comes only once in a lifetime, so we really gave our best to make it memorable. With the same date, same church, and even same priest Papang and Mama renewed their vows. This day will not be completed without their classmates, friends, and relatives.  All of their 10 children were there but not the whole de Rivera clan. Reception was held at the Lakeshore lighthouse Promenade deck.

Since we had our reception at Lakeshore,we have an over night stay plus 2 hours use of the swimming pool located at the middle of the lake. We used these privileges last May 6-7. We really enjoyed it. Here are some of the photos:

More pictures @ LAKESHORE:>

Our one wish for Mama and Papang, they'll have a longer and happier life with us. That's why we are doing everything to make each day unforgettable and making them feel how thankful we are to be their children/ grand children.

IS HE THE ONE?

7 days from now, new leaders will be elected. The tense, drama, and conflicts are now getting hotter. Yellow, Orange, Green, or RED, which of the following colors shines the most? Who is the most ready and deserving to be our 15th president?

Sen. Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" C. Aquino III son of Sen. Ninoy Aquino and our late President Corazon Aquino. Number one in surveys but for me he shouldn't be our next president I don't want to put my future in his hands. Think of this REMOVE the names of his PARENTS in his name do you think Noynoy will still shine? He will never be Ninoy nor Cory. Total Senate Bills Filled:9 Enacted into Law: none(0), being elected 3 times in Congress and once in Senate and having this kind of record do you think he can perform all the duties and responsibilities of a good leader? He can't even stand without Kris Aquino and other artists who believe in him. Hearing other people's reason why it should be him makes me laugh for them he will continue the legacy of his parents, their other reason is it is not the quantity of work it is the good values of Noynoy. Well I think what we need now is a rapid change and I don't think Noynoy can do this. So now what do you think is he the one?

Manuel "Manny" B. Villar Jr places 2nd in surveys. Is he the one? I don't think so his ads are about how he was able to transform his life from poverty to royalty and I don't think this is enough, a lot of filipinos did this already and he's not telling us how will he going to do this. Seeing how he reacted with all the bad issues about him made me decide not to support him. This behavior is not appropriate especially if you are aspiring to be the country's leader. He and Sen Noynoy Aquino keep on exchanging negative comments to each other showing how disgusting they are. One thing more he also uses his mother just to encourage others. I wonder why Noynoy and Villar  are using their parents in campaigning, why if your going to apply in any position would they ask for your parents or your accomplishments, and  educational background instead?

Joseph "Erap" M. Estrada Ejercito famous in his line"ERAP PARA SA MAHIRAP". The one and only president who was sent to jail. Is he the one? I do not find any word to describe him it's funny right? I don't know how am I going to encourage you not to vote him in the first place he should not run again. He already lost the trust of most of the Filipinos because of what he did. I believe in the saying everyone deserves second chance only if the future of many  will not be at risk.  So why should go for him?

Gilberto "Gibo" C. Teodoro Jr. is the ONE. The wise man, for me he has everything we need, the knowledge, the skills, good heart, goal oriented, dedicated and God-fearing. No question about his knowlegde and skills landing 1 in the 1989 Bar exam studied law in University of the Philippines and obtained his Master of Law degree from Harvard Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. One of the reasons why most of the filipinos especially those intellectual people including Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez, Miriam Quiambao, Daphne, Gtongi and some journalists will vote him. A man who is true in his words. The only one who stayed focus in his campaign in spite of all the issues being thrown to him. According to some Filipinos they are not for him because he is the shadow of PGMA but Gibo has his own mind, own decision and will not be a puppet of Gloria. Has a good record being the Secretary of the National Defense and as a Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council what I admire most about him is when ONDOY and PEPENG hit our country he humbly accept his shortcomings and look for solutions without making alibis. With these characteristics I truly believe that he is the one who can make Philippines a better one.

If the Filipinos were smart enough Noynoy and Villar will be their last choices.Registered voters if Gibo will be your choice sure thing it will not be a wasted vote. Progress is our problem Gibo is the answer. Now is the perfect time for us to make actions. We are the one who can bring big change in our country. On May 10, 2010 I'm hoping for a clean and peaceful election. SULONG GIBO:D

05.10.10-A DATE TO REMEMBER:D

May 10, 2010, The most important event of the year, the election day. Who among the candidates for each positions will receive their sweetest victory and their most bitter defeat? Who among them will seriously take their responsibilities? And who among them will just sit and relax after being elected?

In preparation for this event a lot of advertisements were done wether in tv, in the radio, through motorcades and house to house. All the risks politicians will take just to make sure that on election day they will be hailed. Here in Pampanga, Lilia "Baby" Pineda vying for the position of Governor together with his Vice Governor Josseler "Yeng" Giao(Lakas Kampi CMD) sponsored the concert of Cueshe band with the White Lies band in Arayat it was held in Glorrietta(which recently renovated through the help of Cong. Dong Gonzales) April 16, 2010 at 7:00 pm. The show started at 8:00pm (of course filipino time xD) everyone were dancing, singing(really enjoying the night). But when the Cueshe started to perform all the people watching got extra wild. The long hours of waiting were worth it because they did not just sing three songs as what the other artists do when they have some shows, They sang all their singles and even some famous songs now. Here are some of the photos(sorry I'm having a hard time uploading the videos only pictures for now)during the show:

(more pictures @ Cueshe:>)

Now, after this show the questions are-will the people vote Lilia Pineda and Yeng Giao because they are giving this kind of event for free? or are they smart enough and they will just base the background of the two running politicians? Will know the answers on 05.10.10.

I'm not yet a voter but I'm aware on what is happening in our country. I think now we need a leader who is smart enough to decide what plans and risks we're going to take just to change our status, A leader who has a good heart that will understand the situation of each Filipinos and most importantly a leader who is God-fearing. Do not consider POPULARITY or those advertisements about their life transformation (maybe he made it as an individual and he can't make it as a group). We all have our own visions, opinions, and reactions so if you'll ask me I'll go for GREEN:D "dun sa may malinaw na plano dun sa may GALING at TALINO". Who ever win I'll hope they'll perform all their duties well.

SOMETHING NEW

MY FIRST BLOG- A fresh start, how should I begin this post? Is this going to be fun? and what will be the reactions of the readers after reading my 1st blog? Questions puzzling my mind right now.

As a journalist(photo) things need to be considered when writing an article(captioning), first the title must be catchy. Second your photos(subjects) should tell stories. And last your caption(optional) must have 2- 4 sentences only.

During summer, we can't avoid to be bored, and we always find something that can make us busy. During Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I am having my taekwondo training so, during those unmentioned days I do nothing but to learn some new tricks in photography with the help of my Canon EOS 500D. Having different subjects, and styles and making your photos unique will really develop your creativity. Here are some of my photos:

My first set of photos with my DSLR they are not that good yet but I can assure you there will be always improvements in every blog that I post.

After writing this post I was convinced blogging is really enjoyable. The challenge now is how can I make my next post better than this. Two of my questions are now answered now the last question is in your hands:) thanks for reading my blog.
